Where We Go One, We Go Not-All: QAnon’s Anti-Recovery Steps and the Politics of Addiction is a Lacanian approach to the 'anons': Alcoholics Anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous, and now, QAnonymous. Taking this fortuitous naming of the great conspiracy theory of the 2010s as more than coincidence - a true Freudian Slip - Frank Smecker and Sean Witters offer a reading of addiciton and obscene enjoyment that connects conspiracy with other excesses. By traversing QAnon’s structure—its adherents and attendant dynamics of obscene enjoyment—this analysis necessitates key refinements for the Lacanian theorization of addiction and the latter’s relationship to both the logic of sexuation and the capitalist discourse.
